Director l Assistant Coach

Coach Hilgs is originally from Laramie, Wyoming, where he was a two-time all-state performer on the hardwood for Laramie High School. He then started his collegiate career at Sheridan College and finished his playing career at Black Hills State University, where he served as a co-captain. Hilgenkamp earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Black Hills State and a Master's Degree in Athletic Administration from Concordia.

After graduating he started his coaching career at Concordia University (Nebraska) where he spent two years as a graduate assistant then served as the head coach of the junior varsity program for men’s basketball. In 2018-19, Hilgenkamp served as the Director of Basketball Operations for Men’s and Women’s Basketball at Minot State University. After that he went to CSU Pueblo where he served as an assistant basketball coach.

Specializing in player development, Coach Hilgs brought his 6 years of experience at the college level to Collective and served as a Head Coach at the high school levels the past two years. This year Coach Hilgs will serve as Director of Player Development for Collective and will oversee skills sessions, assist with practice plans, and ensure every player in the entire program is on the proper development path. Coach Hilgs will also serve as assistant coach at the 17U level.
